Convenors Canter and BBQ 2014
On Saturday 19th April we will hold the Convenors Canter race on Cairngorm Mountain. This is a fun race for all ages and abilities, traditionally it was organised by the race trainees for the parents. We are hopeful that there will still be plenty of snow on the hill to run the race. Last year we had over 100 entrants of ages 4 to 93!
If you would like to enter, please email me at rona40@btinternet.com with who would like to enter, ages and whether you are registered or not by April 17th. This is to give us a guide of how many people are keen to come. Entries will be taken on the day at 9am in the Ptarmigan station at the top of the hill. Each entry will cost £5 .This covers your entry plus admission to the prize giving and BBQ. Oldest competitors will race first, and we would hope to give everyone two runs, with the fastest run counting. This is a Fun family race and we will adapt the race to the conditions that present themselves on the day.
Any offers of help to run the race would be great appreciated, please express willingness in an email to me. There will be no gatekeepers, but help will be needed taking entries, starter, finishers, course setting support to Craig Lamont and number collection.
Prize giving and BBQ
This will once again be hosted by Hugh and Myrtle Simpson at their house Farleitter near Loch Insh. The BBQ will start from 4pm weather dependant. If you are a previous prize-winner please return your cup engraved to me or Moira Langmuir prior to the race or on the day. Directions will be posted on the website nearer the time.
